Compassionate Hands

Compassionate Hands is a program of 25 Wilson County churches that provides safe shelter to the homeless during the winter months. Each Saturday night from December to March, FPC volunteers host homeless women in the church’s Annex. Compassionate Hands at FPC is coordinated by the Outreach Committee.

How can you help with this ministry?

  1. Give money. The program always needs money to buy food, supplies, and personal items. Your check can be made out to FPC with the memo “Compassionate Hands.”
  2. Volunteer. Compassionate Hands operates through the selflessness of volunteers. Volunteers are needed each week for:
  • Preparation and set-up
  • Overnight stay
  • Providing breakfast
  • Providing packed lunch
  • Clean up
  • Washing bedding and towels
  • Van driving back-up (if not provided by other church)

To volunteer, contact the church office.
