What is the Lectionary?
The Lectionary is a three-year rotation of scripture readings that many pastors use as the basis for sermon and worship planning. At FPC, we follow what is known as the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL). The yearly cycles are designated as Year A, Year B, and Year C. Each yearly cycle begins on the First Sunday of Advent and concludes in November with the Sunday of Christ the King. Each week, the Lectionary provides a reading from the Old Testament, the Psalms, a New Testament Epistle, and a Gospel.
